Box Elder High School - Past ASSA Winners!
|
The score sheets are in, and the 2008 American School Spirit Award winners have been selected. In the week leading up to the announcement, UCA and UDA recognized some extraordinary teams each day...counting down to the number one team in the country!
Each year, the American School Spirit Award is given to the top cheer team and dance team in the country with finalists and outstanding achievement recognition. The focus of these awards is not competition winners, but teams that go above and beyond to show leadership, responsibility, and to be role models in their school and community. These squads support their athletic teams to the fullest, raise school spirit in unique ways, reach out to their community and charity programs across the country, and push to have high academic scores.
This year, the cheer and dance teams were some of best entries yet UCA and UDA have seen yet, making the competition exceptionally tough, but the judges have come together and made their final decision.
And the winners are....
Pleasant Valley High School Cheerleading Squad from Bettendorf, Iowa!

The Pleasant Valley Spartan cheerleaders’ goal each year is to promote spirit and sportsmanship on and off the field, to maintain a positive connection between the high school and community through participation in a variety of volunteer activities throughout the year, to create opportunities for children and adults to share in the spirit, pride and accomplishments of our high school students, and to achieve the highest level of athleticism in our sport and do it all while holding high academic standards.
