Virtual Fashion Show

LIGHTS. CAMERA. FASHION!

Calling all school cheerleaders and dancers! Ever dreamed of being in the Varsity Spirit Fashion Show? Here’s your chance!

Deadline to submit your video is October 23, 2020.

What we need from you:

1. Grab your fave uniform, campwear, warmup or game day look, and video your best strut down the virtual catwalk. Watch this video submission from our IT Girl Reagan Fulton here!
2. Strike a pose, show us your biggest smile, and remember to be yourself! You can always add in your favorite cheer or dance moves – do what makes YOU feel confident!
3. Use your poms or megaphone, and add in some of your favorite VSF accessories.
4. We want to see the details! Does your uniform have a cool back design or braid? Does your outfit have lettering that sparkles and shines? Or maybe a custom logo? Submit another video with close ups of all the details – don’t forget to move slow. We want to get a good look at everything that makes your #VarsityStyle stand out.

A few video tips and tricks:

• Your video should be at least a minute long (about 20 seconds of a full body shot + a few close up shots of the details).
• Shoot horizontal and on the best smartphone you have access to for optimum camera and video. Make sure you’re using the camera lens on the back of your phone, and you’re not in selfie mode!
• Set your video camera settings to 1080p HD at 30 fps
  • Open Settings
  • Scroll to ‘Camera’
  • Tap ‘Record Video’
  • Select ‘1080p HD at 30 fps
• Lock your exposure and focus, and set your phone to “Do Not Disturb.”
• The person shooting or holding the camera should be able to hold a stable shot. If you have a level place to put the camera/or a small tripod, that would be best.
• You can shoot outside, just make sure the sun is soft without harsh shadows on your face. Having the sun directly overhead could cast shadows, and we don’t want that!
• Shoot several takes (2-3) and submit your best full body and close up videos.
• When submitting your video, please add “Virtual Fashion Show” into the subject line.
