How many bows should a cheerleader have? Switching out your bow is one of the easiest ways to update your spirit style. And with the multiple events and games throughout the year, you can never have too many! From summer camp to football, from basketball season to competition—even for volunteer and fundraising events, bows can add so much to a team’s outfit in such an inexpensive way. They are a staple to your cheerleading wardrobe just like the perfect accessory to your homecoming dress.

Each event that your team participates in is not the same, so why should your bow be? Having a diverse collection of bows allows you to mix and match them for every event on your calendar. Consider a solid color, 3 inch sideline bow for camp and football season and a gold glitter bow to bring awareness to childhood cancer in September. Add a pink bow for those October games to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Then reuse it for February games near Valentine’s Day! Switch it up during the winter months with a sparkle bow for competition and a patterned bow for basketball. Assign the bows in your collection to each campwear outfit to complete your practice look and ensure you’re truly getting the most out of your new accessories.

On trend right now are competition bows that will help take your look from the sideline to the stage. So which bows will be standouts this season? Trend Alert: Sparkle with a signature statement! Fashion-forward competition bows have a little more bling and shine over your more classic sideline bows. Take it a step further by adding a glitter logo on the tail of any solid bow so your team stands out on the floor! Your Varsity Rep can outfit your team with the perfect bow for competition, complete with your school’s custom logo.

Not all teams compete, but almost every squad has seniors they honor either at an end-of-year banquet or on Senior Night. We have a bow for that, too! Personalize senior bows with the athlete’s name or graduation year to add that special touch. A senior bow is a thoughtful gift and the perfect keepsake they can cherish for years to come.

So, how many bows are too many? There’s never “too many!” Think of a bow as a pair of earrings—we have no shortage of those! Be sure to care for your bows like you’re caring for earrings, making sure not to throw them into the bottom of your bag where they can get stained or wrinkled. Keep your bows in great condition to guarantee more use throughout the year.

Bow-vember is the perfect time to reevaluate your team’s bow wardrobe and switch up your patterns and styles for an all new look!
