A Support System Like No Other: USA Cheer

While USA Cheer was in Poland, they got to experience a side of cheerleading that not many cheer fans know about. When you think of countries competing against one another, you can assume the level of competitiveness is high. While that is correct, there is also a support system between the countries that is unreal.

One particular team that USA Cheer created a strong relationship with while in Poland was Team Japan. Team member Millery Null tells us more about their experience.

“From the moment we stepped off the plane, Team Japan was right there in full support of us,” Millery said. “Every time we would walk by Team Japan they would put their thumb and index finger together forming a heart. This was their sign for ‘love.’ We started to hold up the sign back to them and they absolutely loved it.”

The Tunnel

After USA Cheer came off of the floor in finals, they were presented with something they were not expecting. The team members and staff were overwhelmed with support from the other countries.

“The highlight of the experience was when we came off the floor after competing in finals," Millery said. "All of the other countries formed a long tunnel for us to walk through as they chanted 'USA!' followed by multiple pictures. All of the team members and coaches of USA were in tears. It was truly a humbling experience.”
