Tell us a little bit about yourself!

Mary: I started cheer when I was three years old. I was 10 when I was on my first Level Five team. The team was called Cheer Tyme Cherish. We won NCA in 2014. Now I am on F5 with friendships that will last a lifetime. This is my third year on Maryland Twisters F5 and I can’t wait for what the rest of the season brings. When I’m not cheering, I love spending time with my family and friends.

Give us a fun fact or story about you.

This past fall my high school cheerleading team was crowned state champions, and I was awarded cheerleader of the year for the state of Virginia.

What does being an Epic Athlete mean to you?

Being an epic athlete is such an honor because I’m surrounded by so many talented and amazing athletes. I am so grateful for all the opportunities that Epic Brands has allowed me to participate in. I wouldn’t change this experience for the world. I will cherish the memories I made at the Under Armour Headquarters last year. I look forward to many more memories with my Epic family.

How do you embody the essence of an Epic Athlete in day-to-day life?

As an Epic Athlete, I strive to be a role model on and off the mat. I love helping and motivating others to be their very best and to never give up.

What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned in your cheer career?

The most impactful lesson I have learned as a cheerleader over the years is to not let one facet of cheerleading define me.  I am not just a flyer, I am an athlete, a teammate, a tumbler, a flyer, and a performer. I strive to give my very best and be the best teammate I can be every day.

#1 cheer memory so far?

My first Worlds in 2017 was very special to me. Taking the mat with my F5 sisters was an experience I will never forget.

What is your next move? Where do you go from here?

My cheer goal for 2019 is to contend for a World Championship with my F5 sisters.  We have a special team this year and I believe in all of my teammates.
