CHEER:

Tryout Dates: September

Cheer Team Details: The Loyola Cheerleading program supports all Greyhounds athletics at the University. The team is a presence in the Loyola community, and its members are some of the most recognizable faces on campus. The cheerleading team performs in front of thousands of fans each year and is provided with the amazing opportunity to be front row for our athletic events. 

DANCE:

Dance Team Details: The Loyola University Maryland Dance is a precision-based team that performs at all home men’s and women’s basketball games in addition to making numerous appearances at other athletic, campus, and community events.

We typically practice 2-3 times a week and our practices include technical training as well as conditioning. In addition to our practices, we host team bonding activities throughout the season and are actively involved in fundraising or volunteer opportunities.

Audition Dates: April

Audition Requirements: 

Required technical elements include but are not limited to:

  • Triple Pirouette
  • A la Seconde Leap
  • Straight Leap/Grand Jetes
  • Toe Touch
  • Basic pom motions
  • 2 – 8 counts of turns a la seconde

Preferred elements include but are not limited to:

  • Headsprings
  • Kip ups
  • Aerials
  • Tumbling

MASCOT:

Mascot Team Details: Iggy is the Greyhounds official mascot! Iggy can be found all over campus and on any game day getting the crowd excited.
