The 2025 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship will see the country’s top cheer and dance teams battle for national titles at one of the most iconic venues around – the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Among the dance teams headed for the spotlight Jan. 17-19 will be Ohio State, the defending national champion in Division IA Jazz and last year’s runner-up in DIA Pom.

Ohio State Had A Memorable Trip To UDA College Nationals In 2024

The Ohio State dance team had a memorable trip to Orlando and the 2024 UDA College Nationals, picking up the national title in DIA Jazz and a runner-up finish in DIA Pom.

The Buckeyes won the jazz crown with a score of 98.9206, edging Minnesota (98.4286). The roles were reversed in the pom finals, where Minnesota finished just ahead of OSU, 98.4762-97.7143.

The Ohio State dance squad followed the lead of the OSU spirit team, which won its own DIA national championship two days earlier.

The Ohio State Buckeyes Have a Track Record Of Success

Ohio State has been one of the most consistent and most successful dance teams in the country over the last decade, and that includes routinely placing in the top 5 of their events.

Along with its win at the UDA College Nationals in 2024, the Ohio State dance team has collected a handful of national titles, including at least one in five of the last six years:

Bigger Picture For Ohio State Dance Team

The Ohio State dance team is part of the school’s spirit program, which also includes the cheerleaders and the OSU mascot, Brutus Buckeye.

Along with the elite competition and the annual push for national titles at UDA College Nationals, the dance team performs at a variety of OSU athletic events from games to pep rallies to parades and other events around Columbus, Ohio.

Ohio State Routine From 2024 Went Viral

In a story published last January by the Columbus Dispatch, the Buckeyes had achieved viral status on TikTok for their routine in the jazz finals at the 2024 UDA College Nationals.

At the time, the video had been viewed almost 5 million times. Now, it has more than 7.7 million views.

Ohio State will compete in the DIA Spirit Game Day semifinals on Jan. 17 at 10:55 a.m. (AdventHealth Arena – South).
