Stingray Steel: Routine Breakdown

Your 2019 reigning World Champions took the stage in the Level 6 Senior Coed Large division at the 2019 All Star Challenge: Battle Under The Big Top and left the crowd amazed! The Stingray All Stars Steel’s routine was two and a half minutes full of incredibly difficult skills, and they made it look like a piece of cake.

Their partner stunts are already so strong and are definitely a strength of the team this year!

Last season, Steel shocked the cheerleading world with their collegiate style hand in hands, but this year they’re stepping it up even more! The team opened up their routine with nine strong extended hand in hands facing the back, then popped them through and landed facing the front.

The hand in hands were followed by an opposite stretch tick tock to regular stretch. From there, the team transitioned into toss cupies, another strong coed stunt! But that’s not all the incredible stunting they opened their routine with. Immediately following the cupies were beautiful toss one arm stretches, with clean standing tumbling across the front of the mat.

Steel then showcased a large amount of standing fulls with a unique basket in the back! After a group of double fulls tumbled towards the front, nine coed full ups covered the back of the mat.

And you guessed it, MORE coed stunting! After the full ups across the back, the groups did a back roll transition that immediately went into their next partner stunt, front handspring ups! This stunt really showcased the difficulty that this team is able to execute. The stunt sequence was followed by beautiful arabesque double downs.

Now it’s time for the girls to show off! Seven sky high kick double baskets went flying under the big top. The team showcased even more strong tumbling with round off doubles transitioning them into their jump sequence.

After their flawless jumps, three toss libs went up at the back of the mat with even more tumbling taking place around them. Now it was time for the specialty pass tumblers to show off their skills! Corner after corner, the Stingray All Stars Steel threw incredibly difficult passes that wowed the crowd.

The tumbling transitioned right into their pyramid! The team executed unique and fun pyramid transitions that stretched across the entire floor. They completed their routine with a high energy dance that had the entire venue on their feet.

The Stringray All Stars Steel left it all out on the mat today, but they get one more chance to show the judges their strength tomorrow! If you can’t watch Steel take the mat for Day 2, you can watch it LIVE on Varsity TV!
