Morehead State University Cheer is a highly competitive program that has won 48 national titles over the past 33 years! The MSU cheer program became a competitive force under the leadership of legendary Head Coach Myron Doan, who led the program to its first 22 national titles.

The “Doan Dynasty” has been attending the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship since 1988 and that year they brought home their very first national title!

MSU has two teams that compete at UCA in the Coed and All Girl DI Division. MSU Coed has brought home 28 national titles while All Girl has brought home 12.

The teams are led by Head Coach Mark Coleman and Assistant Coaches Ian Grimes and Kayla Rucker who are both MSU cheer Alumni and have won with the program in the past.

Coach Mark Coleman says “Both Morehead State University Cheer teams are very experienced this year. MSU All Girl has 14 returning athletes who competed last year and six new athletes! Of the new athletes, one is a senior and the other five are talented freshmen. Co-Head possesses a strong core of team leaders who have been on the team for at least three years, making them also very experienced!”

As both teams get ready to head to 2022 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship, they are most excited to get to show off their amazing routines! As usual, you can expect fast-paced, elite skills with impeccable technique.

Coleman says, “Each team has worked extra hard this season to showcase skills that have never been performed by any other college team!” MSU All Girl is competing pyramids that no other coed team has competed, and MSU Coed has a show-stopping end pyramid that is sure to be a crowd favorite. As to exactly what all those skills are, fans will have to wait until January to see them!

When it comes to Morehead’s goals being able to HIT two perfect routines for both teams is huge. They want to live up to the high standards of the ones before them and have little to no deductions.

MSU Cheer is excited to have a more "normal" season this year and they are looking forward to another incredible experience at the 2022 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship!
