At nearly every high school sporting event they are there. And often they go unappreciated, until now! They are the Mascots! Their job is always active, sometimes silly and actually incredibly important. It’s a bigger than life representation of the school and how the school wants to be represented. Filling these suits is not an easy task.
The purpose of a mascot is to symbolize school and community spirit used to enhance the tradition and emotions of its audience through exaggeration, characterization, and entertainment. Just as it takes a certain kind of person to be the captain of a cheerleading squad or the starting point guard on a basketball team, it takes a certain person to be a mascot.
Learn All This & More!
Let us help you pull out your mascot’s inner spirit at one of our summer training camps. Train with mascot professionals in a creative environment where everyone will learn new skills, swap stories, compare costume/prop ideas, hear mascoting history and create new memories with others who share in the same interests!
USA is looking forward to helping you create a character both in and out of the costume!
Here at the USA we realize how important the mascots are to the spirit world. They single-handedly have the power to make or break the crowd’s involvement in a game and regardless of their reputation they all share a common purpose – to add enjoyment to a game and promote enthusiasm from the fans!
